Folk Danes er et dansk showhold bestående af dansere og spillemænd i alderen 19-34 år. I vores show kombinerer vi traditionelle folkedanse og folkemelodier fra hele Danmark med moderne elementer. Showet indeholder en masse forskellige formationer som rækkedanse, kvaldrilledanse og kredsdanse. Vi går på gulvet med masser af energi og glæder os til at vise jer vores bud på hvad dansk folkedans og folkemusik også kan ud over det traditionelle.

Group Harmonikka comes from Lappeenranta, South Karelia. In the group performing in Nordlek dances young people and adults from 17 to 63 years old. The group practices once a week, but also participates in camps and folk dance events both in Finland and abroad. Karelian dances and traditions are close to the heart of the group. The group performs a dance ensemble called "Karjala", which is a collection of dance artist Viola Malmi's choreographies.

The dancers in the group Viula are aged between11 and 18. Some of them started as early as at four years old, some have joined us later. We dance traditional, foremostly Karelian dances but also dances made to tunes from our region. Apart from weekly practices we have performances and dance camps, where we - besides dancing - spend time together. We have been to many folk dance festivals in Finland, e.g. Europeade 2017. We were also in Havlek 2022.

The book opens and history comes to life, its magic circle putting us dancing steps and playing tunes from hundreds of years back. The heart of a Finnish tanhu has been collected in Tanhuvakka. Tanhumagiaa is about how the book enchants its readers. We dance our favorite dances in our own style. The theatre director and the playmate ensemble took the ensemble to the next level. Karelian Youth was founded in 1919 in the border town of Karelia, Vyborg, and has been based in Helsinki since 1945. We have 250 dancers, musicians and singers, ranging in age from 1 to 91 years old.

Midsummer has a special place in our hearts.The Kulturella Folkdansgillet is housed in, and manages, a heritage-listed house called Solsäter, where we organize one of Stockholm's best midsummer celebrations every year. With newly composed music and dance, as well as old favorites in new versions, we offer a dreamy midsummer tale about youthful infatuation on the way to eternal love.

Dancing is not a matter of simple movements and steps. Dance is a meeting place between people. Between friends. Between family. Between strangers. Leikarringen in BUL Oslo was founded in 1919, and today has over 220 members aged 0 to 90. Our diversity is our strength, and in this dance show we want to show our diversity both age-wise and in dance disciplines. You get to meet “the nerds” who studies the old and develops something new. You will meet us on the Landskappleik stage, on the dance floor and in the May 17th parade with flags and cheers. You will meet the "halling" groups “BULder og brak” and “Myretrill”. And you get to see a small and sweet family waltz in the very end.

Riesku is a cheerful and rollicking group of dancers age of 13 to 17 from Helsinki, Finland. They have experience for dancing together for several years. The group is a part of Pääkaupungin Karjalaiset Nuoret -association, which is a part of Karelian youth association. Besides dancing Riesku maintain Karelian culture heritage, which includes music, costume, and food traditions. Dancers combine traditional Finnish folkdance, dance theater and newer choreography. The performance includes Karelian dance and material from the stage play Karjalan Räyhähenget, which premiered in November 2022. The piece was also performed at the Kaustinen Folk music festival in the summer of 2023.

The folk dance group Symra will show three dances that were in common use in Norway: 1) Feier (longways) no. 28 after S. H. Walcke from 1802: In the 18th and 19th centuries, longways were very popular among rich and poor, but required a fairly large room. 2) Christiania Royal Quadrille: The most Norwegian quadrille: World premiere at Christiania Theater 1868 3) Signora Auretti's dance (or the Little Minuet): A salon dance to the tune of the Swede J. A. Hasse from the mid-18th century
